Brightness in the Hills: a teacher/student duet PDF
A special teacher/student duet version of Brightness in the Hills (written in memory of Robin Hayne, Nat’s childhood piano teacher).
Until the end of April, this sheet music is available for free in celebration of Piano Day 2021. Please consider a donation in exchange to Piano Project, a charity that supports music education.
This duet assigns Nat’s right hand melody to the student, and assigns the remaining accompaniment to the teacher.
There are two versions of the duet included in the PDF download. The easy version has a simplified rhythm for a fairly beginner student. The intermediate version has the melody as played by Nat.
Both versions include an opportunity for improvisation or composition by the student (with the intermediate version using a solo section in the middle, as Nat would perform). These sections provide a major scale suggestion, rather than jazz chords, so the improvising could be attempted by students from a classical or jazz background.
The intermediate duet may also work as a solo piece for a single line instrument (such as violin, flute or trumpet) with piano accompaniment.
Price is excluding 10% GST which will be applied at checkout
